This personal project began with a simple, honest search: to document the light and shadow of my own life, outside the brief of any client. I developed an intuitive system that merges spontaneous moments, deep friendship, and the raw alchemy of film into a coherent visual diary. My approach focused on embracing the imperfections inherent to the process the grain, the unexpected flares, the patient development in the darkroom ensuring that each frame could capture a feeling, not just an image. The foundation of the work is driven by a genuine connection to the people and places within my world, allowing the photographic language to carry not only aesthetic texture but also profound personal truth.

Working closely with the constraints and gifts of analog film, I refined a visual language that is both immediate and timeless. The choice of black and white, the push-and-pull development in the darkroom, and the considered framing were all developed to reflect the dual nature of my subjects: the vibrant energy of shared journeys and the quiet, introspective moments in between. Each roll of film was a committed exercise in seeing, where every frame was tested by the very chemistry of light and silver, from the casual intimacy of a friend's portrait to the vast silence of a new landscape. The result is a body of work that communicates with emotional clarity, maintaining a distinct and recognizable character shaped entirely by hand and heart.

The outcome is a growing archive of memories and metaphors, developed by my own hand. The stark contrasts and textured grays of black and white film establish a visual framework that feels both visceral and enduring. Beyond the individual photographs, the practice itself provides its own guidelines: a ritual of slowing down, observing deeply, and surrendering to the physical process. This ensures the work remains authentic, adaptable, and capable of evolving with my life, serving as a personal testament to the idea that not everything in life is a job some things are simply a way of seeing, feeling, and remembering.
